We love the chance to shoot in downtown Snohomish because it’s our home town. Kimmie has a hair salon where the bridal party got ready before we all walked the streets of Snohomish. Hidden Meadows is one of our favorite venues and it’s only a few minutes away from downtown. The ceremony was very sweet and then 350 guests rocked the reception!

What’s amazing is that Stephanie, Jacquelyn, and Sabrina have all become mothers within a few months of each other! We blogged recently about Sabrina and Dann and we just photographed Jacquelyn, Tom, and Brycen yesterday.

I learned a lesson here. I’m usually afraid that giving my opinion might sound boastful or presumptuous and I’m also not very good at “sharing my feelings.” However, I think this is something I need to get more comfortable with. Get ready to hear me start laying it on the line.

By the way, Kevin and Heather loved their wedding photos and album design! Sharing that feeling with them is what makes it all worthwhile for us – truly.

We had just viewed our most recent wedding album and luckily, these were good tears. Aleks and Julio’s wedding would be intimate and emotional and we knew we wanted to capture it on that level. Maybe it was our emotional approach or maybe it was their incredible hospitality but Aleks and Julio’s wedding is one of our favorites ever.

A really special moment was the Polish blessing that Aleks’ parents performed after Aleks got ready at her home. She cried.

Meanwhile, Julio’s mother had flown up from Mexico and, alongside his best man, met him near the waterfront in Kirkland. Outdoors on this beautiful day, she also performed a blessing. These were wonderful moments for us to witness and were definitely the kind of stories we were imagining in Aleks and Julio’s wedding album.

After the ceremony at the Kirkland waterfront, the small group of friends and family convened for a Champagne toast at Aleks and Julio’s home before heading for dinner at Cafe Juanita in Kirkland. They offered us Champagne too and it didn’t hurt our creativity.

Just before Jill and I were wrapping up for the night, Dann walked us out to the parking lot where a row of shot glasses were glued to a ski. I’m not an expert on shots but they looked pretty full. When father of the bride Paul said the pours looked too stiff for him, I knew I was in trouble.

“No,” I said, “I have to make a long drive home.” But after some arm twisting, I was hunched over a ski with Dann, some groomsmen, and a couple of dudes I didn’t know. Evidently you’re a rookey if you touch your lips to the glass, but I’m proud to have downed it without looking too stupid. Jill drove me home on a cloud.

But I digress, and now Dann and Sabrina have a baby! …

Thank goodness we have friends like Michelle and Lisa. They are wedding planners (two of the best) that we’ve been incredibly lucky to work with over the years. They are genuine people who work their butts off for their clients and are the closest thing we have to co-workers. Ladies, thank you for going to war with us, creating so many memories, and sharing a few Bud Lights.

Oh, and they’re beautiful too! …

They were married in Hannah’s hometown of Gig Harbor in her church. Also, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and took photos in downtown Gig Harbor.

Now many years later, it’s pure joy to photograph Ali and Brett moving into their lovely home with their sweet baby Lillian. Already they have another on the way and life keeps on humming along … working to take it all in.
