Here’s a
Suncadia Resort wedding from one of our coolest couples. With beautifully sunny skies when we arrived, it was hard to believe the weather service predicted torrential downpours just a few hours later. Like clockwork, when we were heading outside to do bride and groom portraits the rain started. Luckily, Candra and Jeff were all for braving the elements and THANK GOODNESS because we got some of our favorite photos ever.

We’re part of a cooperative preschool and one of our favorite things about it is meeting other families. We were fortunate to meet Jeremy, Jason, and Ellie who are one of the neatest families around.
Since Jeremy is having a book published in a few months and needed a bio photo for the cover, we thought it would be a great chance to get some photos of the whole family.

Boudoir photography means different things to different people but to us it is about art and fashion. There is a rising popularity for simple and sexy photos and it’s a good thing.
There’s something compelling about catching a timeless glimpse of ourselves or our loved ones, especially when we are at our best. Whether it’s stepping outside of your comfort zone today or an opportunity to say “Look, Grandma was hot!” seize the day.

We just got a wonderful and most humbling e-mail. We did a boudoir session with Danielle for her Valentine’s gift to Taylor and she had some really powerful things to say.
Normally we’d keep this to ourselves but besides a great Valentine’s story, it’s is also a story of courage! We’ll post a few more photos this evening.
Thanks for letting us share Danielle!
Jill & Joe –
Let me just start by saying WOW – I am absolutely blown away by these photos!!! I’m not sure how you do it, but you far exceed my expectations each time I work with you guys. I am amazed at how striking and flawless these images are (not to toot my own horn), and additionally how my vision of this shoot lined up exactly with yours. These are tasteful, classy, artistic, and STUNNING! Your talents as photographers literally give me chills.
Another really important note I wanted to add is that I appreciate more than anything how comfortable you allowed me to be during the process. It’s a very nerve-racking experience and I was somewhat terrified to strip down in front of a camera. Within the first few minutes I felt that I could relax and start to have fun with it, so I really cannot thank you enough for this. I imagine this is an extremely important characteristic for successful photographers to possess, and the two of you have nailed it!
There is no way I can pick out a favorite. I’ve gone through the photos multiple times now and started making a list of the ones I love. Before I knew it, practically all of the photos were on my list. J A few of my favorites are 41, 43, 44, 59, 65, 67, 102 (this is probably my absolutely favorite – amazing!), 115, 116, 117, and the list goes on and on! Some of these (a good majority, actually) literally looked they are ripped right out of a magazine!
Don’t ever stop what you’re doing – I have never seen such pure and raw talent from photographers.
Thank you so, so much!
Danielle

Have you ever said “I can do that!” and no one believes you? When you’re a photographer, you need to show what you can do before anyone will hire you. We met Regan at our favorite coffee stand around the time we were saying “we can do that!” about high school senior photography and we asked if we could photograph her. We got so lucky to find someone who trusts us, is up for anything, and is a natural in front of the camera. She’s been a great friend to us over the last few years and we could not be more grateful.

Last year, Jill and I got so addicted to watching The Sopranos that we watched 10 years worth of episodes in six months. One of the things we loved about it was literally watching the kids in the show grow older before our eyes. Hopefully we create photos with immediate impact but sometimes there’s nothing like looking back. Following our two previous posts, here are the Crenshaws from 2007. Up next is 2009 …

We mentioned in our previous post that we first met Sam at her parents’ wedding back in 2006. Here it is! They are a really special family and the next post will be from a couple of their family sessions over the years.
And sorry Sam, the braces photo is just too cute not to post!

One of my favorite things about photographing seniors is getting to hang out with them. I remember that age being incredibly exciting for me. I imagine it’s different for everyone but any way you slice it, it’s amazing to be able to connect with “the youth” for a bit.
By the way, we met Sam a long time ago when we photographed her parents’ wedding. We have great memories with Amy, Scott, Mieko, and the rest of the clan and we’re honored to call them our friends. Coming soon are some images from that wedding and also some family sessions throughout the years …
