It’s a bold statement and its extra bold for us since we haven’t shared anything on our blog in over a year. Truth be told, we’ve been putting a lot of time and energy into raising our two young boys and serving our photography clients. There hasn’t been room for much else.

This (somewhat crazy) commitment to make 100 posts in 100 days is mostly for us. We have a lot we’d love to share and we want to commit to it. We’ll be sharing some of our favorite stuff from the past year, everything current, and some personal things too.

Our promise is that we’ll keep it real. With the popularity of Facebook and such, it can seem like everyone is living the perfect life. We’re definitely going to share our successes and things we’re excited about but hopefully we’ll be brave enough to share the candid moments too.

Very importantly, thank you to everyone who continues to support us. You are our friends, brides, and grooms and you encourage us, tell your friends about us, and have our backs unconditionally. We couldn’t do it without you.

The first thing we’d like to share is a set of the most ‘real’ images we’ve ever taken. Actually, Jill took them all. In 2006, we met a cute nineteen year old couple and we knew we needed to photograph their wedding. Mitch and Mallorie’s wedding album was our studio sample for a long time and I’m sure they helped us connect with many of our favorite brides and grooms.

Last summer, they asked Jill to photograph the birth of their second child. When Mallorie called in the middle of the night, Jill’s cellphone was downstairs (keepin’ it real) and she didn’t get the call until morning. Luckily, Jill arrived in time and captured these images. Tomorrow we’ll post some images from their May 2006 wedding.

Looking forward!
Joe + Jill
