“Hey Photographer!” Usually I turn around trying not to look disgusted. But it was Dann, the groom, with a sly smile on his face. I laughed and he said “Come with me.”

Just before Jill and I were wrapping up for the night, Dann walked us out to the parking lot where a row of shot glasses were glued to a ski. I’m not an expert on shots but they looked pretty full. When father of the bride Paul said the pours looked too stiff for him, I knew I was in trouble.

“No,” I said, “I have to make a long drive home.” But after some arm twisting, I was hunched over a ski with Dann, some groomsmen, and a couple of dudes I didn’t know. Evidently you’re a rookey if you touch your lips to the glass, but I’m proud to have downed it without looking too stupid. Jill drove me home on a cloud.

But I digress, and now Dann and Sabrina have a baby! …

I’m at a point in my life where everything seems like yesterday. I so clearly remember sitting in a coffee shop showing Ali a stack of 4×6 prints from a recent wedding. Awkward presentation aside, she knew us a little and trusted us enough to photograph her wedding that year.

Now many years later, it’s pure joy to photograph Ali and Brett moving into their lovely home with their sweet baby Lillian. Already they have another on the way and life keeps on humming along … working to take it all in.

We’re part of a cooperative preschool and one of our favorite things about it is meeting other families. We were fortunate to meet Jeremy, Jason, and Ellie who are one of the neatest families around.

Since Jeremy is having a book published in a few months and needed a bio photo for the cover, we thought it would be a great chance to get some photos of the whole family.

Last year, Jill and I got so addicted to watching The Sopranos that we watched 10 years worth of episodes in six months. One of the things we loved about it was literally watching the kids in the show grow older before our eyes. Hopefully we create photos with immediate impact but sometimes there’s nothing like looking back. Following our two previous posts, here are the Crenshaws from 2007. Up next is 2009 …
